In our own weaving plant we produce a broad range of textile products. Our traditional fabrics are based on 1K, 3K, 6K and 12K carbon fibers, as well as glass- and aramid fibers in the case of hybrid materials. They are thermally and electrically conductive and have excellent fatigue strength. They are also compatible with a number of different resin systems. With the right construction method, composite materials made from carbon fiber fabrics can achieve the strength and rigidity of metals at a significantly lower weight.

Our unidirectional fabrics are produced on the basis of different types of carbon fiber (3K, 6K, 12K and 50K). The rovings are arranged lengthwise and fixed in place at a 90°-angle using support threads made from polyester or glass, whereby the fiber weight per unit area can vary between 200 g/m² and 600 g/m².

Non-wovens made from carbon fibers (PAN base) can be processed into composite components using established production methods. The components are flexible, easy to finish and electrically conductive.
 

Possible applications include:

• Acid protection, e.g. for lining plastic containers
• Production of even and smooth surfaces of composite components
• Avoiding electrostatic charging due to semiconductive properties in fiber-reinforced components
• Substrate in electrodes of electrochemical cells (batteries, fuel cells, etc.)

UDO^®, the successful product line for non-crimp unidirectionals and multiaxials is today in use in innovative low-weight construction world-wide – from ultra-light speedboats to light or large aircraft. UDO^® opens the way to a wide range of applications, thanks not least of all to the availability of variable widths: tapes from 40 mm and sheets of up to a maximum width of 1.27 m.
