SICABON®
Corrosion resistant heat exchanger and equipment made of silicon carbide
SIGRABOND®
SIGRABOND® is the brand name for SGL Group's carbon fiber-reinforced carbon (CFRC, C/C).
See also:
SIGRACELL®
SIGRACELL® is the trade name for our specialty carbon and graphite products for energy storage. Among these are specially developed carbon fiber based soft felts, the so called battery felts, bipolar plates made from graphite composites as well as graphite anode materials.
See also: Battery felt, bipolar plates, soft felt and expanded graphite.
SIGRACET®
SIGRACET® Gas Diffusion Layers (GDL) for application in PEM fuel cells and - electrolyzers.
See also:
SIGRACOMP®
SIGRACOMP® is the brand name for high-performance composite components.
SIGRACOMP® CFRP components
Components made from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP).
See also: CFRP
SIGRACOMP® wet friction materials
Carbon-based wet friction materials for automotive applications.
SIGRAFIL®
SIGRAFIL® is the brand name for high-quality carbon fibers, derived from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor. They are available as continuous carbon fiber tow, milled or chopped fibers.
SIGRAFINE®
SIGRAFINE® is the new common brand name for all our fine and medium grain graphite products. Products were previously known under RINGSDORFF®, SIGRAFORM®, and SIGRAMENT®.
See also: Isostatic graphite, Extruded graphite, Die molded carbon and graphite, Vibration molded graphite
SIGRAFLEX®
Flexible graphite foils and graphite sealing sheets made from expanded natural graphite for the most demanding applications in the chemicals, petrochemicals, automotive and industrial sealing sectors worldwide.
See also: Expanded graphite
SIGRAPREG®
SIGRAPREG® is the brand name for pre-impreganted materials (prepregs) made from carbon, glass, and aramid fibers.
See also: Prepregs
SIGRASIC®
See: C/SiC
SIGRATEX®
SIGRATEX® is the brand name for textile materials made from carbon, glass or aramid fibers. The materials range from woven fabrics, fabric tapes and non-wovens to unidirectional and multiaxial fabrics.
SIGRATHERM®
Trade name for SGL Group's materials for insulation and thermal management applications: Soft and rigid felt and carbon wool for thermal insulation, expanded graphite products for thermal management.
See also:
Silicon carbide coating
Silicon carbide is a dense oxidation resistant material deposited as a thin coating on graphite by CVD. Details on properties, manufacturing and typical applications of SiC coated products can be found under
Soft felt
Insulation material in the shape of roll goods (individual pre-cuts possible) made of carbon fiber for thermal insulation at temperatures of 800°C and above. The soft felt is made by needling of cellulose fibers, followed by a thermal treatment process. Details on properties, manufacturing and typical applications of soft felt can be found under
Specialty graphite
Synthetical graphite materials with a mean grain size less than a millimeter are labeled as fine-grain or specialty graphite. The ability to influence specific material properties by varying raw materials and manufacturing technology makes specialty graphite an indispensable key material for many applications.
Detail can be found under Synthetic fine and medium grain graphite
See also:
Synthetic fine and medium grain graphite
Synthetic coarse-/ fine-grain graphite is artificially manufactured graphite.
Properties of synthetic graphite:
- High specific strength at elevated temperatures
- Excellent high-temperature stability
- High thermal shock resistance
- Good electrical and thermal conductivity
- High chemical and corrosion resistance
- Good lubricating properties
- High purity possible
- Low thermal expansion
- Excellent machinability
- Increasing strength with decreasing grain size
- Low neutron absorption cross-section
Details on manufacturing and typical applications of fine and medium grain graphite can be found under SIGRAFINE® Fine grain graphite
