Formula Student Design Competition
More than 100 student teams from different countries were at Hockenheim, for example. The winner is not the fastest car but the team with the best overall rating based on design, racing performance, financial planning, fuel economy, and sales arguments. SGL Group is currently sponsoring nine teams from different universities with a total of some 500 team members. In addition to financial support and the opportunity for internships and degree theses, the students are also given the chance to develop, build, and use components made from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic in cooperation with SGL experts.
SGL Group has been involved in the Formula Student competition since 2008. Formula Student is also used by the motorsport, automotive, and supplier industries as an indicator of the educational standard of engineers.
