What matters in measuring technology is precision and stability of form. The low expansion levels of carbon structures make them an ideal material for this industry. In a production environment they are thermally tolerant and particularly light in weight.
For dimensionally stable, optical precision instruments the thermal expansion coefficient of CFRP components can be set to very low values. For example, we produce instrument tubes made from CFRP or C/SiC gauges.
