Customized Products for Key Industries
The Graphite Specialties Business Unit supplies a full range of materials, which extend from isostatically pressed, extruded, die-molded, vibration-molded and expanded graphite, through carbon and graphite felt to carbon fiber-reinforced carbon. These materials are ideally matched to the needs of our customers‘ particular applications. We also have the necessary expertise to undertake the design, manufacture and machining of complex components made from these materials. Our product portfolio is complemented by finishing options such as coating, impregnation and purification. Six production sites in Europe, North America and Asia supply these materials worldwide to our own machining centers, which are within easy reach of our customers.
We are certified according to ISO 9001:2000 as well as ISO TS16949:2002. The respective certificates can be found under "Downloads" in the right navigation. With manufacturing facilities in Europe, North America and China, and a sales network spanning the globe, we are always within easy reach.

Industrial Applications
With the resulting wide variety of material modifications and grades designed to meet individual application requirements, the specialty graphite grades of the 'Industrial Applications' segment are well placed to act as key materials in the primary and secondary metallurgy sectors, tool, glass and ceramics manufacture, the electrochemical and nuclear industries, and also in laboratory and medical technology.
Electronic Applications
This segment supplies a wide range of components made of high-purity graphite, carbon fiber-reinforced carbon and felt for semiconductor and solar technology, thermal engineering and energy technology, for industrial furnace engineering, the hard metal industry, aerospace technology and chemical process engineering.
We can draw on our long-standing materials expertise and vast experience with high-temperature processes. This enables us to supply customized package systems covering everything from the design to the commissioning of complete high-temperature plants and chemical process equipment.
Mechanical Applications
The segment 'Mechanical Applications' supplies carbon and graphite components to the automotive and household appliance industries, as well as to mechanical engineering companies. Our customers include not only manufacturers of compressors, vacuum and other pumps, sealing systems and sliding elements, but also processors of semifinished products and producers of injection moldings.
In addition, we market graphite foils and sheets made from expanded natural graphite under the trademark SIGRAFLEX®, which are used for applications in the automotive and industrial sealing sectors.
