Graphite & Carbon Electrodes

Our Business Unit  "Graphite & Carbon Electrodes" manufactures graphite electrodes for the production of steel in electric arc furnaces. We also fabricate carbon electrodes which are used in other smelting applications (e.g. silicon, phosphorous).

High Volume Products for the Basic Industries

Our core business is graphite electrodes, used to conduct electrical current during the melting of scrap steel in electric arc furnaces ("mini mills"). Since 1975 electric steel's share of total steel production in the western world has risen from 20% to nearly 40%. New and flexible production methods, as well as overall competitiveness, create the conditions for electric steel's growth potential.
