Performance Management
The core of performance management is to manage and assess the performance of employees through targets. To provide guidance and motivation, employee targets are aligned with the strategic goals of the company and derived from them. |
For this purpose, we have SGL Dialogue, a computer-based system that supports the performance management process for professionals and leaders worldwide. This system helps to structure the discussions between manager and employee and to document the discussion results.
The performance management system at SGL Group comprises the following components:
- Objective setting and attainment: Here the individual contribution toward achieving corporate goals is defined at the beginning of the year and reviewed at the end of the year.
- Performance evaluation: The performance-relevant behavior shown by the employee is appraised on the basis of the SGL competency model.
- Personal development planning: Here employee potentials and areas of development are discussed and appropriate development measures are defined. The present and likely future employee job requirements determine the scope of the measures.
In the SGL Group, performance certainly will be rewarded adequately. Therefore, the results of the performance management process are taken into account for the compensation of the particular employee.
