The apprenticeship program for an industrial mechanic in the SGL Group is very varied. I get to know a wide range of departments and therefore acquire a feel for how they interrelate, as well as gaining all the relevant professional qualifications. Additionally in my capacity as a young apprentices’ representative, I have an opportunity to champion the interests of apprentices and make a difference. Besides carrying out enjoyable activities such as organizing a football tournament, I am also called on to use my skills as a mediator in conflict situations, and in this way I learn far more about myself than just my occupational competence.

Apprentice process technician for plastics and rubber technology, specializing in fiber-reinforced composites, Meitingen site.
During my current apprenticeship as a process technician with the SGL Group, my technical competence is being continually extended by further practical and theoretical training courses. As part of the cooperation with another plant, I have, for example, completed a plastics welding course. We also have the opportunity within the SGL Group to get to know other sites, so I am planning an exchange with our Bremen facility in my next apprenticeship year. I therefore feel optimally prepared for my future career.
